The power of information

     For me, the word information is something that would give us guidances in doing something if we use it wisely. Sometimes without information, we are not able to fulfil our tasks or even miss the truths. It is said that "information is power", but it is just partially correct. We can have all the information in the world, which internet now offers us. But if we don't do anything with that information, renders it useless. 

    Through the informations that are provided by the internet, I found out that Germany was involved in World War 1. Germany was controlled by Adolf Hitler and his Nazi Party for a period of time, which also means that the informations were all under Hitler's control. This has explained that how Hitler lied to German people, misleading them. Fortunately, there were three brave teenagers, Helmuth Hübener, Karl-Heinz Schnibbe and Rudi Wobbe did not fall into Hitler's trap. In July 1941, Helmuth invited Karl over to his apartment to show him something special: a shortwave radio. Karl was shocked. They knew that listening to foreign radio stations were forbidden and the punishments were serious.
     
     As they were listening to the radio at 10p.m., a voice crackled to life. "The BBC London presents the news in German." Information is powerful, through this shortwave radio, suspicions of the boys were confirmed that the Nazis were lying to German people, that the war was wrong, and that Hitler was sending Germans into battles that they couldn't win. A news that would change the course of their lives. As I have mentioned, information that isn't used is useless. Soon, Helmuth wanted to do something. As a brave and pure young man, he wanted all Germans to know the truth-- they were being brain washed. To spread the very information that would restore the glory of German, Helmuth hatched a bold plan: He began typing up leaflets that criticised Hitler, Nazis and the war.

     Through this history, I find that information plays a significant role in our lives. People in German could not see the truth when there was no correct information that would lead them. 

     In this era of globalisation, we are lucky that we can have all the information through the internet. For example, Google and Facebook. Some people are curious about what's happening in other countries and big news about these countries, of course they can find out through Facebook, Google or other websites. Once they got information, they will share it to their friends, discussing about reasons or influences of the cases that happened in other countries. More importantly, people have to know more about their countries, which is related to them and their futures. Lastly, I hope and believe that people in this generation will know the importances of information, so that they will more focus on it.

While preparing, presenting and after presenting my group sketch

     On the first Friday of February, my friends and I played a story in our class. It was interesting to use the way which was acting to tell our classmates about the story. Before presenting, we went through the story, In the Mountains, understanding the story and the characters. Soon, we chose the roles for ourselves and started practising together while sitting in a circle in our class. During this process, we had laughters because we found it funny when some of us acted weird and awkward. Honestly, I got to know my friends even better throughout this process as I had talked and discussed with them in that two days, it was great. What did I learn from this preparing process? Well, I've learnt that cooperation is very important for a group work. We need to speak out our opinions about other people and suggestions that they should take to make improvements. Hari raya celebration in school

     6/7/2018, our school had a celebration for Hari Raya in school. On the day itself we were allowed to wear traditional costume and I chose to wear Baju Kebaya as I will not be wearing that in the normal days except for events like this. It was really such a nice day for me as I got to be with my best friends, having fun together. Me and my friends were forced to go to different classes so we will be more grateful when we get to gather together! Anyways, after all of the students gather in the hall, we were allowed to go out the hall and take pictures. It was an extremely hot day, but the happiness that we had was greater the weather. I hope more events like this will be held in school.
